Finding Balance

December 20, 2017

You had your own identity before you became a mom and a full-time assistant to your kids! It's time to start finding balance again.

Being a mom is a full-time job — a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week position with zero pay and, sometimes, little to no appreciation. Most days I think to myself, “How did I get here and what did I do to deserve this?” Finding the balance between motherhood and making myself a…

Potty Training My Two Year Old

December 12, 2017

No one said it was going to be easy, but boy is this harder than I thought. Yep, I’m talking about potty training my two year old. Everyone has their own opinions on when and how they will eventually do it. My husband and I decided to wait until our son, Jake, was born, so…

Welcome Baby Odin!

December 7, 2017

Welcome Baby Odin!

He’s officially here! This is a little overdue, but as you can imagine, finding the time to do anything right after giving birth can be almost impossible! The delivery went smooth and Jordan and I couldn’t be happier or feel more fulfilled now that our little man is in our lives. Welcome, Odin Orian Hahn….

The Best Advice

December 4, 2017

Having the knowledge I gained from the team at Providence Health & Services, California prior to going into labor was a lifesaver.

“Having the knowledge I gained from the team at Providence Health & Services, California prior to going into labor was a lifesaver.  I was able to discuss my questions and concerns from beginning to end, and everyone was so great. In a time where emotions are running high and there’s a lot going on, it…

Staying Best Friends

November 21, 2017

When we got married, someone told us that staying best friends is the key to a happy marriage. Having a baby has not only made us better friends but also a family.

Just when I thought that my husband and I were getting this whole marriage thing down, we added another girl to the mix. Our daughter. My husband and I have been together for 8 years. In that time, we have lived in 3 different states and Switzerland for the last 6 years. As much as…

Dealing With Breast Milk Oversupply

October 31, 2017

As a lactation consultant I see three things every day: low supply, pain, and oversupply. Oversupply. What a good problem to have, right? Thats not even a problem? Wrong. Its as big a problem as any other breastfeeding challenge. It can lead to baby indigestion, bag latches, and mostly: pain. Oh the pain. Waking up…

Audrey’s Walking!

October 29, 2017

Babies do things on their own time, including walking.

Today has literally been one of the coolest days of my life. Audrey started walking! I am certainly not one to be mushy about these things, but I am so excited, and let’s face it, a little proud. To start off, I am not a cookie cutter mom by any means. I was maybe the…

My Toddler Jumped Out Of His Crib

October 23, 2017

At 19 months old, my son jumped out of his crib. He was extremely scared and upset. I was told that because he had scared himself, I was not to worry, and he would more then likely not jump out again. Wrong! The very next day he managed to jump out again. Typically, most people…

Mom 2.0?

October 17, 2017

Mom 2.0 - what happens when you hire a nanny?

If you know anything about me, you know I don’t like asking for help. Like ever. Hiring a babysitter/nanny was probably one of the harder things I had to do as a mom, so far. As much as I love my baby, I just can’t bring her everywhere. I had the realization when she was…

About Jessica

Jessica Sleepless Mom Welcome sleepless moms! I haven’t had a full nights rest in over 2 years. Why, you ask? Because like you, juggling a toddler and a baby, working, and finding time for myself has left me sleepless, yet full of joy.

The inspiration for my blog came from tirelessly searching online for the answers new moms have, just to find out there is no right answer. My hope and vision is to create a community for moms to comment and share real life stories with one another when Google just isn’t cutting it. Whether you have specific questions or just want to comment and relate, this is your space to ask your fellow moms advice and know you’re not the only one that screws up from time to time.

I have assembled a well-rounded team that’s here to share their struggles and successes with you, as well as offer support in any way possible. This is an interactive site and we are here to cater to your mom needs. Please feel free to contact our team members with new topics you want us to tackle or even simple questions about motherhood. That’s what we are here for….
