Sleepless Mom

A blog for moms

Survival Guide to Cold and Flu Season

Hi to all the sleepless moms out there! I don’t know about you guys, but this time of year has me sleeping even less than normal mostly because of all the sickness going around. Whether it’s the cold or flu bugs, allergies, or even upset tummies, it seems that there’s always some sort of ailment when you have little ones. My kids have gotten colds a couple of times already this year, and I hate seeing how much it can set us back! I’ve also heard from multiple mama friends of mine that they are dealing with the same things in their houses. Sometimes it’s even just simple indigestion or allergies, but again, it’s always something when you are a mom, am I right? Thankfully I’ve been introduced to a few different ways to help my family get better so that my life can go back to the organized chaos I’m used to.

Survival Guide to Cold and Flu Season

One thing that sounds really basic, but I swear is SO important is, of course, sleep! I may not know what that is anymore, but I do know how bad my kids need it. Getting enough sleep is crucial for their immune systems to be able to fight off whatever comes their way. I have been trying to get them in bed early so that they can get a good night’s rest along with napping consistently.

Something else I have been made more aware of is how important their diet is. They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, and while I know we always laughed at that when our parents told us, as a mom I’m finding it’s actually true. A diet higher in fruits and vegetables supports immune system health for not only children, but everyone!

To top it all off, I found the AMAZING Maty’s Healthy Products. Maty’s has a variety of different products to help kids get past the cold, allergies, and tummy aches that come their way. Not only is it organic and natural, but my kids love the taste, too. Before I tried it with Sophie I was concerned she’d hate the taste because it is a medicine, but she actually liked it, and I loved the peace of mind I had knowing it was all natural. They have cough syrup for night time and day time as well as vapor rubs to help breathing and more! I just found this gem and I fell in love and hope you all can check it out at https://matyshealthyproducts.com

About Jessica

Jessica Sleepless Mom Welcome sleepless moms! I haven’t had a full nights rest in over 2 years. Why, you ask? Because like you, juggling a toddler and a baby, working, and finding time for myself has left me sleepless, yet full of joy.

The inspiration for my blog came from tirelessly searching online for the answers new moms have, just to find out there is no right answer. My hope and vision is to create a community for moms to comment and share real life stories with one another when Google just isn’t cutting it. Whether you have specific questions or just want to comment and relate, this is your space to ask your fellow moms advice and know you’re not the only one that screws up from time to time.

I have assembled a well-rounded team that’s here to share their struggles and successes with you, as well as offer support in any way possible. This is an interactive site and we are here to cater to your mom needs. Please feel free to contact our team members with new topics you want us to tackle or even simple questions about motherhood. That’s what we are here for….
