These days it seems like a nanny comes in a new baby starter kit. Is it just me or is everyone using a nanny?
I guess I never truly noticed it until having a child of my own, but now I’m asked on a daily basis when I will get one.
To Nanny Or Not To Nanny?
Truth is, like most moms, I felt being a stay at home mom meant I should be at home with my child 100 percent of the time. While I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to spend so much time with my baby, moms need a break, too!
I live in a foreign country, with a husband who travels a lot for work, and I don’t have a single family member for 6,000 miles. At what point did I not realize I would go crazy without any sort of help?
I opt for the occasional babysitter. Obviously every mom is different, with different needs, but this works for me.
Just a little time away, whether it’s date night with my husband or getting the occasional boot camp class in, is such a treat! It’s so important to take time for yourself and to really appreciate being a mom and missing your baby.
Being a mom is the most important job in the world, but your sanity is equally important.
After some “me” time I cannot wait to come home and snuggle that little baby!
