Anyone else feel like it’s already week 762 of summer? The days are long for us sleepless moms. But I’m not giving up on summer fun. This week I’m planning scavenger hunts that my kids are going to love.
I Hide It, You Find It Scavenger Hunt
To start, I’m going to sneak some of my kids favorite toys and objects out of their rooms and hide them around the house. Then, I’ll give them a list of the items and let them go searching. I’m sure I will need to give them a few hints along the way, but I think this will entertain them for a good amount of time.
I might even make them put everything away after they find it. It never hurts to slip in a lesson around cleaning up after you are finished playing!
Let’s Make Something Scavenger Hunt
For this one, I’m thinking I could have them search for things in the kitchen, ingredients, tools, etc and when they have found everything, we can use the items to make dinner or a yummy dessert. This could also be fun way to build a fort, you could have them bather blankets, pillows, chairs, books, small toys, and anything else they might want to take into their fort.
I’m also looking at this list of great at-home scavenger hunt ideas, and I’ll probably have them try the color challenge, where they have to go find items from around the house or yard for each color on the paper. Simple, but fun!
