Ever wonder how a year old baby knows how to “dance” even before learning to speak full sentences? I think it may be the beat of the music, since I am pretty sure they don’t understand the lyrics just quite yet.
Introducing Music To Your Children
They say music is the universal language. Almost everyone enjoys music. Whether you are just listening to it, or singing along to a song on the radio, a great song or melody is something that can be enjoyed by all ages and backgrounds.
When music is played, I have seen my (almost) two-year old granddaughter bouncing, clapping and swaying to the music. I am sure you mother’s and grandmother’s can all relate.
Little ones love to express themselves through music. Teaching your toddler or preschooler happy and silly songs with just a few lines, teaches repetition and memorization. Songs that teach counting and spelling can improve academic development. And, where would be without those sweet lullabies that soothe our little ones into sleepiness?
One of my favorite times is listening to a beautiful melody while rocking my grandbaby to sleep.
Heaven on earth.
