As summer comes to a close all the feels that come with this are change, new routines and homework! It’s been a great summer made up of lake swims, playdates, sleeping in (sometimes) and no time schedule. There is a part of me that is so excited for them to go to school, but then the feeling of overwhelm kicks in reminding me that time is flying by so fast. I am going to miss being with them during the day but also know that it is good for me to have time to myself, so that I can be the best mom.
Back To School
It’s been days of Sophie talking about all her friends and teachers, so it’s good to know that she’s excited to start, but with Jake, it’s definitely a bit of an unknown. Jake and I did a Mommy and Me class, but this will be the first time he will be going without me, which terrifies me a bit. He is such a mamma’s boy, but I know once he gets there he will be an ace! Kyle keeps reminding me it will be amazing for him and I know it will – but he is still my baby.
With all that being said, I have been really pouring my feelings into the kids starting school and back to school shopping. It’s been really fun taking the kids shopping for their school supplies because Sophie is at the age where she can help pick out what she wants to bring. We loved going to Target and finding all different things they’ll need for school.
I noticed a fun, super hip line of school supplies called Yoobi. They have way better things in store for school supplies than I had when I was little. Not even embarrassed to say I bought a few things for my home office, too. From the cute glitter tiger pencil pouches, to the cool lip erasers, roller skating journals, and more. The bright colors pulled Sophie in and got her even more excited to show her friends. They’ve made it equally as exciting as the toy section, if you can believe that! All the items are functional and super high quality which made me feel good about purchasing for her BTS kit. There’s not only paper and desk supplies, but also lunch boxes and backpacks!
The products have designs that are fun for kids of all ages. Sophie especially loves that they have a lot of rainbow designs because her favorite pattern right now is “rainbow.” I was so happy to see the huge back to school selection at Target and was so surprised by how much Yoobi products they had in particular. Something else I love is that Yoobi isn’t just fun and functional school supplies, but also a charitable company because they give school supplies to schools in need when you buy their products. I am very pleased with this brand and highly recommend checking them out by visiting Target.com or Yoobi.com.
