A blog for moms

Babysitter Fail

Hi Sleepless moms! I’m Alexia, and I’m a babysitter/nanny. I am around kids all the time since it’s my job! Because of that, I have some pretty fun experiences and also some good stories. On one particularly difficult day, I was watching these two kids for a family I’ve known since I was a kid. Their daughters were about five and three at the time and I was getting them ready for bed. Before I go on, please note I was young and it was early on in my babysitting days so I am a much better babysitter now.

So it was time for a bath so both the girls were in the tub. Everything was going according to plan and then the girls wanted to get out. As I searched for towels, trying my best to keep an eye on them so they didn’t drown or fall, one of the girls started climbing out of the bathtub. I didn’t know it at the time, because of course it was the one nanosecond I wasn’t watching, so I turned around quickly, bumping into her, and knocking her to the ground on her butt. The floor was also slick like tile so since she was wet her body slid so far on that tile. I felt so bad because not only had I knocked her down but also sent her flying across the bathroom floor. Thankfully, it sounds a lot worse than it actually was. She was totally fine with no injuries or anything but it of course scared her and me to see her flying across the floor. We are still good family friends with the girls’ parents and honestly I don’t even remember if I told the parents what happened or not. It’s funny because in the moment I felt like the worst babysitter alive but looking back it really was no big deal and I’m sure it happens all the time. Needless to say this was definitely not my best moment but you live and you learn right?

About Jessica

Jessica Sleepless Mom Welcome sleepless moms! I haven’t had a full nights rest in over 2 years. Why, you ask? Because like you, juggling a toddler and a baby, working, and finding time for myself has left me sleepless, yet full of joy.

The inspiration for my blog came from tirelessly searching online for the answers new moms have, just to find out there is no right answer. My hope and vision is to create a community for moms to comment and share real life stories with one another when Google just isn’t cutting it. Whether you have specific questions or just want to comment and relate, this is your space to ask your fellow moms advice and know you’re not the only one that screws up from time to time.

I have assembled a well-rounded team that’s here to share their struggles and successes with you, as well as offer support in any way possible. This is an interactive site and we are here to cater to your mom needs. Please feel free to contact our team members with new topics you want us to tackle or even simple questions about motherhood. That’s what we are here for….
